What's most regrettable, is that James and John might attempt to discredit me in order to discredit my review. There's a lot more to say, but I think I've made my point diplomatically. So, buyer beware and expect to implement contingencies, as I have, and incorporate those contingencies into your purchase decision.
Just bought my 2nd BMW from European Auto, I recommend you talk to Mr. John Mastrogiovanni, honest man, very good service, constant communication. No misrepresentation of the vehicle, vehicle matches his description. 5 Stars
The other shop gets my car and calls me up later that day to tell me that the back window on my top is broken, the frame is bent and the hydraulic hoses are kinked and hooked up to the wrong ports. Cost to repair? $15,000!!!
Two weeks later still no calls from James so I called him. Left messages, spoke to a person who told me James has been out of the office and is very busy. Almost a week later I get a call from James telling me that his guys are just too busy and have not had a chance to do much. He asked me if I minded sending the car to another shop where they have a lot of experience and had techs available to do the work. He offered to flatbed it down to the shop at his expense, and he wouldn't even charge me for any work that he had done. Sounds like a prince, huh?
Company personnel need improvement in communication, follow up and keeping promises. Once honesty is alloyed, so, then, does mistrust follow. And there in lies the betrayal of the fundamental premise, the expectation that the honor system in America is the natural mode of doing business. Without that premise in place, everything reduces to a zero sum game, which is a cumbersome burden to place on business transactions.
PS. If you look further down the list of reviews, you'll see two reviews by "JAMES FISCHETTI." This is as of August 29, 2017, when I'm writing this review, so James may have had the good judgment to delete these reviews by the time you read this.
There were about 5 fixes promised at that time, none other than the seat belt was repaired.
I guess my realization is now that I've been duped by accomplished and experienced schemers. However, I DO have a beautiful Bentley, and I'll fix it up, so I'll enjoy it despite these buggers who sold it to me. TK
I found this to be disappointing, but revealing. It's both dishonest and stupid, and it is the stock and trade of dishonest people... they are, for the most part, also very stupid. And, it's possible that the other 5-star reviews are also fake.
What you may not realize is that the James Fischetti, the author of both reviews, is the owner of this dealership. He is writing his own "5-star" reviews.
On the plus side, (1) John did arrange for expedient and cost-effective transport, which did save money. And, (2) John did recommend a pre-purchase inspection from Braman Motors up the highway, which I undertook to order for $675.
Otherwise, the interaction was courteous and pleasant, when it occurred. However, most of my recent attempts to communicate have been met with no responses, despite promises to return calls, texts and emails. Seems like James or John are never in when I call.
We have recently brought two of our cars to All European Auto, one for routine maintenance and another for two major repairs...the work was exceptional, high-quality, and efficient. Everyone we had the opportunity to interact with was kind, courteous, and professional. Further, the costs were beyond reasonable, a fraction of what the dealership quoted! We could not be happier with All European Auto, and will definitely continue to bring our vehicles to them.
I called James who claimed that his guys never even looked at the top, and that perhaps the flatbed driver did all this damage.
My wife dropped the car off and called me to tell me that the place seemed 'sketchy' to her. Anyway, after a week passed I had not heard from them. I called and left two messages. A couple of days later James called me back to tell me that his guys have been too busy to get to the car, but he (and I) wasn't worried because he knew I was out of town for a while.
Terrible communication, dishonest! Stay away!!!
Purchased '09 Bentley Arnage. Paid in full June 28, 2017. Waited 6 weeks for seat belt tensionor to be replaced, then shipped vehicle without any other promised repairs being done, despite several emails and phone promises. Received the vehicle in Southern California on August 17th.
Regrettable, but it served to remind me that, in the final analysis, we're still dealing with the classic example of a used car salesmen, with all the usual unsavory implications that ushers in, even if it's a Bentley that's the product.
I have an exotic convertible and have had difficulty getting the top fixed properly. I stopped in to meet with James who told me that they could absolutely fix my top. I tried to explain what has already been attempted and he barely paid attention and didn't write anything down. James assured me that these things were simple for his crew and that they would take care of the top.
Purchased my 2009 997 Porsche from James Dec 2016; the experience as a whole was a true pleasure. James was always on hand to answer all of my questions, and he was a huge help in getting everything from paperwork to assisting my transport people in getting the car safely to my home. This was my first experience buying a car cross country and sight unseen at that. James and the folks at All European went above and beyond in making this a wonderful experience!
I am beyond disappointed and angry!
However, upon having received the vehicle, I realized that the pre-purchase inspection did not disclose but a few of the many flaws, which now causes me to doubt that the inspection was very thorough. Major among the undisclosed issues were both of the missing master keys, and the constant warning of the windshield washer fluid, which still plagues me today after having filled the reservoir twice to the top. That warning was visible throughout the sales process, yet no one mentioned it, and it was not corrected by adding fluid. It now appears the nozzles or hoses are clogged, which may require substantial labor costs to rectify.
What started out as an exciting and fulfilling experience, gradually deteriorated to a frustrating and disappointing ordeal. Even today, two weeks after delivery, they're still not returning my call.
After i received the vehicle, I've encountered more defects which were not disclosed, among them was the absence of both master keys (only provided the valet key which does not operate the glove box or luggage compartment), both front chrome wheel covers bubbling, rear license plate mounting was damaged so needs repair to attach license plate, and so far, I've identified nearly 30 other non-disclosed defects or non-functioning items. For example, master keys are $1,000 each.
