Tapia is a walking nightmare. He is allopathic only and pushes opiates. If you aren't buying his other pain services, he will find a way to kick you to the curb. He will not see anyone who uses legal medical marijuana. Alternative healing? He isn't interested. He just wants $$. Jupiter deserves better.

i was with Dr. Tapia for about 4 years. i was on cymbalta for neuropathic pain. i informed him i got a dui just for the sake of honesty with your doctor. when i called for a refill, he said NO. i inquired as to why and he stated the dui. he refused to give me a legitimate answer. Tapia also called my CVS pharmacist and my regular doctor to tell them about my mistake. he went to my regular doctor, who can also provide trigger point injections who had no problem giving me a script knowing the facts. no one needs a doctor who believes he is beyond reproach and sits in JUDGMENT over you. Tapia obviously is not a doctor you want unless you want to have someone pass judgement over you !! He broke HIPPA and I'll be reporting him to the state board.
I absolutely love Dr. Tapia and his staff, I've been seeing him for over 3 years now . If you're looking for a Doctor that will work with you on a road to become more pain free he and his counterparts will try every avenue known to man just to make your pain more manageable. He's not a Pain Management Physician that passes out pain medication like candy, just to get you in and out like some clinics. He truly wants the best for you, and will work with you. To find out what's the best course of action that works to make you more comfortable in day to day life. . The first time I seen Dr. Tapia after talking to him and him doing an overall assessment he's the one Physician that said I believe you have Fibromyalgia. He referred me to a Rheumatologist and indeed I do have Fibromyalgia. . .Please keep in mind that a Doctor goes through process of elimination, either that be though having test done, or different procedures done, to trying different medications until they get you feeling better. It's called Practicing Medicine for a reason and at times this process takes several visits. Also just to note that you will have to sign a paper about any narcotics can only be prescribed by Dr. Tapia if you are Prescribed anything else don't go have it filled until you talk to Ashley his Physician Assistant or Dr. Tapia. You are expected to follow the directions that are given to you on day one. Most medications you're not to drink alcohol while taking them due to side effects so please don't drink, some medications you're not to drive so please don't drive while on those medications. We the patient are expected to follow the rules at all times. Doctor Tapia and his medical staff have dedicated their lives to help others. We as the patient, must keep in mind that we represent their good works and don't want to tarnish their reputation by not following the regulations given to us...
